Whether you are arriving for the first time or leaving the Residence, this page will guide you step by step to prepare for your move-in or move-out. You will find all the essential information, practical tips, and checklists to ensure your arrival and/or departure is stress-free and safe.

Important

For safety reasons, any fryer, hot plate, or other electric cooking appliance is prohibited in bedrooms and units.

To cook, you can use the shared kitchens, which are equipped and safe for meal preparation.

We’ll send you an email to schedule your arrival. You’ll be able to choose a date and time that works for you.

Inspection

At the Residence, we will inspect your unit when you sign the arrival documents and receive your keys. You can then move in and settle into your space.

Good Practices

 After the inspection, take a moment to check your room. Test the appliances, electrical outlets and switches, lights, furniture, and faucets.

Decorations

Make your room your own

Posters and Decorations
  • Bring any posters, photos, and decorations you like, as long as they’re appropriate.
  • Use sticky tack or tape, no thumbtacks or nails.
  • Check with the Residence team before putting up anything related to special events or celebrations.
  • Do not cover fire detectors, or you may be fined.
Rearrange the furniture

You’re free to arrange the furniture as you like in your space, as long as it’s not shared.

Pets 

Pets are not allowed in the residence, including aquarium fish.

Service animals must be approved by the administrative staff before you move in!

Your departure

Things to do before you leave

We’re sad to see you go, but what a year it’s been! To help you plan your departure smoothly, we’ve prepared this checklist. Follow it to ensure a stress-free move-out with no extra fees.

Prepare Your Room and Unit

Put all the furniture back in its original place : Make sure everything is clean. Report any repairs needed.

Remove all posters and decorations, and clean off any sticky tack or tape residue.

Bed : Leave the mattress and mattress protector in place.

Desk : Empty and clean the drawers.

Bathroom : Clean the sink, shower, toilet, mirror, counters, drawers, and cabinets. Remove your shower curtain and hooks.

Kitchenette : Empty and clean the drawers, sink, counters, and the area under the sink. Empty and clean the refrigerator (including the freezer) and leave it plugged in.

Microwave : Clean the inside, outside, and glass plate.

Floors and unit : Vacuum, sweep, and mop the floors

Garbage : Dispose of all trash, compost, and recycling.

  • The Residence team will do a final inspection of your room to check its condition. Fees may apply if necessary.
  • Any items left behind at the Residence will be thrown away, so try not to forget anything!

Mailbox : Empty it and set up mail forwarding. Cancel subscriptions if needed.
Bills : Make sure you don’t have any outstanding balance.

A limited number of carts are available at the Residence. You’re welcome to bring your own.

Check your contract and emails to confirm your move-out deadline.

You must leave the Residence at the specified time unless you’ve requested an exception.
